PEBBLE BEACH HOMEOWNERS CAR RALLY AUGUST 16, 2010

The PBHOA Hosted Its First Road Rally
Ten cars with designated drivers and navigators met at the Barnegat Municipal Dock on Monday August 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM.  Under the shade of the pavilion, the teams enjoyed coffee and doughnuts and socialized prior to the distribution and explanation of the rules of the rally.  Rules were explained and questions were answered before the cars lined up ready for the 10:30 "release" of the first car and team.

A minute prior to each car's release, they were given the directions and question packet.  The rally took the group throughout Waretown and Barnegat as they looked for road signs and historical landmarks that might help them correctly answer the questions that were posed along the route.  They also had to make a few stops in various places to pick up a card for a poker hand as well.

Everyone found their way to the final destination, Calloways Restaurant, without having to open the envelope that revealed where we were meeting.  While the committee worked on computing the final results for time, correct responses, and best poker hand, team members were able to order lunch and laugh about their experiences.  Awards were given out to the following teams:

1st place: Ginny Makitra and Linda Paraula

2nd place: Gary and Claire Ciborowski

3rd place:  Jean Campbell and Jill Pieraccini, with Carol

                             Kozak and Stephen Pieraccini

Last place:  John and Sue Garback

Best poker hand:  Hugh and Margo Murphy
